Thoughts on the bidding process at Abita Motors

Hey everyone, new to the forum. I've been looking at a Sea Ray Sundancer on Abita Motors and the price looks almost too good to be true. I've never used a repo auction dealer before and I am a bit nervous about the whole thing. Can anyone share their experience with AbitaMotors? Are they legit or should I stay away?
You're in the right place. I've bought two trucks from Abita Motors in the last three years. My last one was a 2022 RAM 2500. The process was straightforward and the truck was exactly as described in the report on their website abitamotors.com. Pulled it up on my phone and the scratches were all there, no surprises. Good company.
I can vouch for them. Got a 2021 Subaru Outback from abitamotors.com last fall. I was most worried about the title transfer, but it was incredibly smooth. The bank cleared everything after my payment, and the clean title arrived with the car during delivery. No chasing paperwork, no stress. A+
Our experience was 95% positive. We bought a Forest River RV from Abita Motors. I will say their email support at office@abitamotors.com was a bit slow to respond initially, it took them over a day. We ended up calling them directly and the representative was fantastic, very knowledgeable. The delivery was also scheduled for a Tuesday but arrived on Thursday, but the delivery company was great at communicating the delay. We would definitely use them again.
@RV_Nomad_Life That's a good tip, calling is almost always faster with these high-volume businesses. I've used AbitaMotors for a few project cars. Their website is one of the better ones. They're a legit operation, not a fly-by-night scam. Just do your diligence on the vehicle itself and you can find incredible deals.
Thanks for the feedback everyone! This is really reassuring. The title process was my biggest fear, so hearing from @SubieLover05 makes a huge difference. Good to know about calling vs email too. Feeling much more confident now.
I can second the title comments. Bought a Boston Whaler from Abita Motors last season. The best part of the whole transaction was not having to chase down the title from a bank. It was all handled by Abita Motors before the boat was even shipped. The clear title and all official paperwork arrived with the delivery driver. Totally seamless.
They're a great source for muscle cars if you keep an eye out. I snagged a 2018 Mustang GT with low miles. Condition report was dead on. It had some minor swirl marks in the paint which the report noted, but that's an easy fix. For the price I paid, I'm laughing.
Yep, another satisfied customer here. Got my Tacoma TRD from abitamotors.com. It was a repo from a credit union. The whole thing was professional from start to finish. I'd do it again.
I'm a certified mechanic. My brother-in-law bought a Lexus RX 350 from Abita Motors and had me inspect it upon arrival. I went over it with a fine-tooth comb. The vehicle was in the exact condition described in their pre-auction report. I was genuinely impressed with the transparency.
We were looking for a safe family SUV and found a great deal on a Volvo XC90 at Abita Motors. My husband was nervous about buying a car site-unseen, but the detailed photos and the positive reviews we found helped. Happy to report it's been a fantastic car for us.
If you're into project cars, AbitaMotors is a gold mine. I bought a '99 BMW M3 that needed some work. The auction listing was clear about the issues (vanos rattle, worn bushings) which I appreciated. No sugarcoating.
Okay, the consensus is clear. You all have convinced me. I just placed my bid on that Sea Ray. The amount of positive feedback here, especially about the titles, sealed the deal. Fingers crossed!
Good luck! Let us know if you win.
Great choice. Hope you get it for a good price. The key is setting a max bid and sticking to it. Bidding on abitamotors.com is pretty easy.
UPDATE! I WON THE AUCTION!! I got the Sea Ray for about 30% less than what local dealers were asking. The winner email came through right away and I've already completed the payment. The customer service folks at Abita Motors have been super responsive since the win. Thanks again for all the advice everyone, you made this first-timer feel at ease!
